Natural Bioidentical Hormone Therapy for Men & Women

Do you have hormone imbalance?

Hormone imbalance refers to a disruption in the normal level of hormones produced in the ovaries (women), testicles (men), adrenal, or thyroid glands. The delicate balance between this interconnected hormonal system can be offset by a number of stressors, nutritional deficiencies, and environmental exposures leading to a broad range of symptoms.

As part of your initial assessment, your naturopathic doctor will order comprehensive hormone testing to identify your specific hormone imbalances and create a wellness plan using diet and lifestyle recommendations, nutritional supplements and, when appropriate, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.

How does this happen?

Our hormones play a major role in our body and effect how we look, feel and function. Life stressors from taking care of the family, commuting, working long hours, poor sleep, unhealthy eating habits, environmental toxins and other forms of physical and emotional stress can disrupt our natural hormone balance leading to changes in energy level, mood, weight, sleep quality, skin and simply not feeling like yourself.

Food Allergy Testing

Are the foods you eat making you sick?

Do you have chronic, nagging or debilitative symptoms, yet your doctor says everything is normal? You may be part of the growing number of people with a delayed-type food allergy.

What are the symptoms of Food Allergy?

Food allergies are associated with a wide range of mental, emotional and physical symptoms affecting virtually every part of the body. Symptoms related to food allergy include fatigue, anxiety, depression, recurrent colds, ear infections, yeast infections, chronic nasal congestion, postnasal drip, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, ulcerative colitis, crohnç—´ disease, high blood pressure, eczema, hives, muscle aches, joint pain and stiffness, headaches, and asthma.

Many of these symptoms mimic other conditions and people often get misdiagnosed with another condition. It is important however when considering the diagnosis of food allergy to rule out other conditions which can present similarly.

Why are food sensitivities difficult to recognize?

Food sensitivities tend to develop from foods that we eat often and produce a broad range of symptoms that vary from person to person. Symptoms can take hours to several days to appear after eating the offending food, making it difficult to connect symptoms with the foods we are eating

What are the causes of Food Allergy?

  • Regular consumption of processed foods containing many similar ingredients and high in preservatives, artificial colorings and flavorings.
  • Impaired digestion such as from a deficiency in stomach acid or pancreatic enzymes leading to inadequate breakdown of food.
  • Genetically modified foods result in food components that cross-react with normal tissues. In other words, the immune system develops antibodies to genetically modified food antigens that have a similar chemical structure to your own tissues.
  • Decreased stomach acid from stress and chronic use of acid-blocking drugs for heartburn (pepsid, zantac, etc.).
  • Inflammation and damage to the intestinal lining from viruses, fungi, and toxic bacteria.
  • Disruption of the normal balance of healthy intestinal flora from antibiotic use.

How do I know if I have a food sensitivity?
We test for food allergies with a blood test that measures your immune response to 96 common foods. Each assessment includes a visual representation of your antibody levels against each specific food tested and dietary guidelines based on your individual results.

At Trio Natural Medicine we offer specialized lab tests to identify the root cause of symptoms.  These tests provide powerful insight into how your body is functioning and will help guide us in determining the most effective treatment plan for you.
